Welcome to GeoWoodstock VI
The River City Geocaching & Dining Society (RCGDS) and the Northstate Unusual Treasure Seekers (NUTS) are proud and honored to have been selected as the hosts of GeoWoodstock VI. We are working hard to plan a great, relaxing and fun event.
This website is your primary source for information about GeoWoodstock VI. Keep in mind that the event is May 24, 2008 and is still in the planning stage. We will monitor the forums here and respond as fast as we can with as much as we know. We will also post threads and articles as new information becomes available.
After you create your account on the website, make sure you click on the "Event Registration" link over there at the top of the Main Menu to register for the event. Remember, a "will attend" log on the event page is not enough. You also need to register here.
Your suggestions and questions are always welcome.
Thanks! We are looking forward to seeing everyone in May!

What is GeoWoodstock? |
GeoWoodstock is an annual get-together for geocachers from all over the world. In five short years GeoWoodstock has become the world's largest geocaching-related event. It is a relaxed, friendly, and free gathering. Typical activities at past GeoWoodstock events have included meeting people, prize giveaways, geocoin sales and trading, travel bug swaps, and of course, caching like crazy. There have been large and small cache runs, and records have been made for the most caches found in a 24-hour period.
In 2008, GeoWoodstock is going to be all that and much more. GeoWoodstock VI will take place on ...

Caching Opportunities around GWVI |
The area around GeoWoodstock VI is full of caching opportunities for just about every kind of cache hunt. Interested in taking a hike while getting some numbers? The Spenceville Wildlife Area is over 11,000 acres of gently rolling terrain and is loaded with caches. Yuba City’s UTChaz knows Spenceville well, and will be providing bookmark lists for the area. Or if a more strenuous hunt is desired, check Scoobert’s list of extreme caches in the Sierra. Another way to cache the mountains is via a 4WD vehicle, and bthomas will be leading a Sunday morning 4WD run to satisfy that need.

Non Geocaching Activities |
Say you are traveling with a non-geocaching partner, or you the cacher are going to be in the GeoWoodstock area for several days and would like to take a "day off". Some folks might want to take the time to visit our major outlying attractions, such as Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Napa Valley or even Yosemite. But what is there to do in this area that doesn't involve geocaching? Aside from the many museums and historical sites in Sacramento, which are too abundant to list here, there are many interesting and exciting things to do while you are in the area. Please click on the Read More link below for a great list of attractions!

Evil Plants and Creepy Crawlies |
Rock&Crystal, two Northern California cachers, have created an excellent tri-fold brochure entitled Plants and Animals to Avoid in Northern California; A Cacher's Primer of Evil Plants and Creepy Crawlies. This brochure lists the most annoying plants and pests that you should watch out for while caching in Northern California. We'll have copies of this brochure available when you check in at GeoWoodstock, and you can download it here to read beforehand. Download both the inside and outside, and print them on opposite sides of a single piece of paper.
